I recently found this article and thought it was at least worth a quick read from anyone interested in general website design (not just artistic but overall aspects).

It's made up of what several very successful designers consider to be the most important and I think it addresses a lot of valuable points.

I think a lot of those are good ones but there is no way you can just read what someone says then be a good designer. I had to learn because i taught myself. Some of the things written there are good though.

Even if you need experience it's still a good idea to have the basic knowledge that others have accumulated. I wasn't trying to suggest that someone could read this list and become a great designers but it is solid information to know I believe.
